We want you to be happy with your purchase from The PC Lad. If something is not right, we are here to help. This policy explains how returns and refunds work for custom builds and individual components.
Under EU consumer rights legislation, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your product, without giving a reason. This cooling off period begins the day after you receive your item.
To exercise this right, you must clearly inform us of your decision to cancel by contacting us through the contact form on our website before the 14-day period expires.
Because each PC is built to your specific requirements, custom builds are exempt from the standard cooling off period under EU regulations for bespoke or personalised goods. However, if your custom build arrives with a fault or defect, we will absolutely make it right.
If your custom build is faulty on arrival, contact us within 14 days and we will either repair the issue, replace the faulty component, or offer a full refund — whichever you prefer.
If you have purchased individual components (not as part of a custom build), you may return them within 14 days of receipt provided they are unopened and in their original, sealed packaging. Once a component has been opened or installed, it cannot be returned unless it is faulty.
If any item you receive is faulty or not working as expected, get in touch with us as soon as possible. We will work with you to diagnose the issue and arrange a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate. Under Irish consumer law, you are entitled to a remedy for faulty goods regardless of the timeframes above.

Please do not send items back without contacting us first. We need to confirm the return and provide you with the correct return details.
If you are returning a faulty item, we will cover the cost of return shipping. If you are returning a non-faulty item within the cooling off period (where applicable), you are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. Items should be returned securely packaged to prevent damage in transit.
Once we receive your returned item and confirm it meets the return conditions, we will process your refund. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically take 5 to 10 business days to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.
If a refund is approved before the item is returned (for example, in the case of a faulty build where a replacement is being sent), we will confirm the timeline with you directly.
